One of our first projects that we created, was inspired by a campaign I found on Do Something's website. It was a simple concept that could easily be done and was a chance to be creative. The purpose of this drive was to create homemade birthday cards for homeless kids.
Over a million children experience homelessness every year. Many kids’ birthdays fall while they are in a shelter, making it hard to celebrate. Making and mailing birthday cards helps ensure everyone gets to celebrate on their special day -- and you made thousands of awesome cards to do just that! Shelter staff members received the cards you sent. Then, staff members, family members, and friends wrote a personal message inside for the birthday boy or girl.
